Nokia X5-01 review
Network and connections
Nokia offers a device halfway between the X3 and X6, to fill out the range of its latest successful series. It could be defined as a Quadphone, not so much to recall network operation, but rather for its unusual square shape. But let's start with the technical description. The network receiver is a GSM Quadband, for optimal coverage in any condition, also thanks to UMTS support. For surfing the Internet, nothing is faster than the HSDPA modem, for boundless mobility. The dedicated HTML browser will be able to correctly display any Web page. There's also the Wi-Fi antenna to take advantage of distributed networks. Bluetooth and USB connection are also present.
Design and features
A fascinating style, with simple but decisive lines, all high-tech for an intriguing design. The body has an original square shape, maintaining dimensions with a thickness of 16.8 mm and a weight of 129 grams. The front almost entirely houses the large display. This is a 2.8-inch QVGA TFT, capable of displaying up to 256 thousand colors. The display surface is scratch-resistant and integrates a sensor for automatic image rotation. Opening the body with a Slider movement, instead, reveals a comfortable extended QWERTY keyboard inside.
Main features
The Nokia X5-01 is equipped with the Symbian OS version 9.3 platform, synonymous with reliability, speed and ease of use. Java support allows you to expand the features as you like, so as to customize the device according to your needs. The simplified writing helps with text composition, making it quick to handle SMS, MMS and E-mail. Viewing and editing attachments such as Office and PDF documents will not be a problem. Great predisposition for using applications such as Facebook, Youtube and Instant Messaging programs. As for the telephone side, there are speakerphone, voice recorder and video call support, thanks to the dedicated front camera.
Entertainment and multimedia
An absolutely complete phone, to compete in the mid-high range of the market. The built-in camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels, to capture quality images in any condition. There are many dedicated functions, such as autofocus and Dual LED Flash. Audio entertainment, on the other hand, can count on ample storage space, as much as 32 GB with microSD cards. This way you can always have your favorite music in your pocket, to be played with the dedicated multimedia player, or plenty of videos and movies. It is also possible to draw directly from Nokia's Comes With Music service. There is also an AM/FM radio antenna, with RDS function. All this is complemented by a long-lasting battery, for a battery life of 384 hours in Stand-by.
