Network and connections
A competitive product that doesn't give up on quality and a complete set of features. Nokia always offers reliable, well-built materials. Let's start by talking about the technical characteristics of the Nokia Surge. It is equipped with a GSM Quadband receiver, with Dual Mode support to take advantage of UMTS bands. There's great potential for Internet browsing, with an internal HSDPA modem and a browser capable of quickly opening HTML pages. Bluetooth can be used to exchange data with other devices; in addition, there's a USB 2.0 port for syncing with your home PC.

Design and features
The Surge's compact dimensions make it portable without compromise. The shape is distinctive, optimized for messaging phone functions. On the inside there's an extended QWERTY keyboard, which is revealed through a Slider opening. Some dedicated keys allow direct access to email and Internet functions. The front houses the display, a 2.4-inch TFT, capable of displaying up to 16 million colors. Content can be managed via the clickable directional pad. As mentioned, the dimensions are compact: 15.5 mm thick for 124 grams of weight. The retail package includes a headset and a data cable.

Main features
Nokia always stands out for the ease of use and management of every type of content. The settings are intuitive to adjust, allowing you to fully personalize your device. The platform equipped on the Surge is Symbian OS Series S60 release 3.2, synonymous with practicality and expandability thanks to Java support. Office documents and PDF files can be easily managed, so they can also be inserted as attachments in E-mail messages. As for the purely telephone-related side, we have a hands-free function with good audio quality, a voice recorder and voice command calling. In addition, you can make multi-party conference calls as well as video calls, via the dedicated camera.

Entertainment and multimedia
The multimedia features include an audio/video player supporting various formats, so you can always carry your favorite files with you to play whenever you like. There's also a digital camera, with a 2 megapixel resolution that allows you to take acceptable-quality photos when needed. There are many dedicated functions, from autofocus to digital Zoom and Flash, among many others. The presence of a GPS receiver is interesting, allowing you to take advantage of satellite functionality through the AT&T carrier, which collaborated on the launch of this Smartphone. Internal memory is expandable up to 8 GB via microSD cards. Lastly, battery life is really good, with up to 400 hours of Stand-by time.
