Nokia as always offers the market devices of quality and with exceptional features. This N85 proves to be an excellent Smartphone, both for Business users and for those who want a tool for multimedia entertainment. First of all, it is a GSM Quadband, capable of offering really excellent signal coverage, thanks also to UMTS support in Dual Mode. To exchange files with other devices there are Bluetooth and the output for the USB 2.0 data cable. Moreover, it is really practical and fast to browse the Web, thanks to the internal modem and the HTML browser. Data traffic is managed by HSDPA support, for speeds equal to home ADSL. Or you can take advantage of distributed networks thanks to the Wi-Fi card.

The lines are classic in Nokia style, simple and well-finished, to give an essential but elegant look. The structure is a Slider, opening vertically. Inside, a standard numeric keyboard is revealed, with keys that are small but quite usable. The upper part is occupied by the screen, a 2.6-inch OLED capable of displaying 16 million colors. Just below are a directional pad and function keys. The dimensions are in line with devices in this category: 16 mm thick and a weight of 128 grams. In the sales package you can find the cable for video connection, the USB data cable, the Music headset and a handy 8 GB memory card.
Main features
The functional package of the Nokia N85 is really complete. Based on the Symbian 9.1 S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 platform, it guarantees boundless expandability. This is also made possible thanks to Java support, which therefore allows you to install compatible applications to best customize your device. The classic management tools are not missing, such as an advanced contacts address book, the agenda with calendar to manage activities and appointments, the alarm clock and the calculator. The voice sector instead offers hands-free, the voice recorder and support for multiconferencing. A dedicated front camera also allows you to make video calls. Text writing is fast thanks to T9, so you can easily compose SMS, multimedia messages and also better manage E-mail. The N85 can be used for VoIP calls and as an Instant Messaging tool.
Entertainment and multimedia
The qualities of this Smartphone are really many. The camera also proves to be up to expectations, with its 5 megapixel resolution and Carl Zeiss Tessar optics. The images thus obtained are really splendid and sharp, thanks also to the 20X Zoom and the powerful Xenon Flash. The dedicated functions range from autofocus to contrast adjustment, from direct photo editing to publishing with PictBridge online printing. The available memory is 74 MB, easily expandable with microSD cards. In this way it will also be possible to always have plenty of music and videos on hand, to be played with the multimedia player. Moreover, reception of AM/FM radio frequencies is supported. A TV output allows images to be projected directly onto an external screen. Finally, it is also worth mentioning the presence of A-GPS, capable of turning the N85 into a true satellite navigator. Battery life is also of a high level, thanks to the 1200 mAh lithium battery; in this way the duration is about 363 hours in Stand-by.
