Nokia E65 review
Network and connections
Nokia E65 is a cell phone dedicated to business users. The new handset is a Dual Mode device, capable of automatically switching from the UMTS network to the GSM one, and vice versa, in order to make the most of the line's data transfer capabilities (also thanks to EDGE and GPRS support). Being a Tri-band device, it can operate on the GSM frequencies of 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. The USB interfaces and the wireless Bluetooth and IrDa connections make this product highly versatile, while the added value is provided by Wi-Fi connectivity.
Design and equipment
Nokia E65 offers the quality and attention to detail that have always distinguished the products of the Finnish company. Moreover, it can boast an elegant design, of the slide-up type, with a very thin and light structure. The thickness is just 14 mm while the weight, including the battery, is 88 grams. As for colors, a dark gray, with Silver inserts, and a red, also with Silver inserts, are expected to be available. The antenna is of the integrated type and the package includes a case, USB cable and headset.
Main features
The features of Nokia E65 cover a wide range of possibilities. These include sending and managing Sms, Ems, Mms and E-mail messages, with the addition of video message support and the T9 predictive text system. The operating system is based on the Symbian 9.1 platform - series 60 3rd edition. Memory availability, moreover, is 70 MB and is expandable via MicroSD cards. Very good, finally, is the display, as is the integrated battery, capable of providing continuous and reliable power.
Entertainment and multimedia
E65, unlike many Nokia models, does not have an integrated FM radio. The device does however offer a good MP3 music file player, as well as an MPEG-4 player for viewing video clips (compressed in that format for optimal viewing on cell phones and i-pods). The integrated Java technology, moreover, allows the installation of numerous compatible games and applications. Nokia E65, moreover, is equipped with two digital cameras. The main one has a 2 Megapixel sensor, capable of capturing perfectly sharp and detailed images. The resolution of the internal video camera is instead lower, since it is specifically designed for video calls.
