Nokia E52 review

Network and connections
One of the latest devices in the Business Series, featuring the quality that sets the Finnish company apart from the competition. First of all, this is a device with GSM Quadband network support. This means it is able to operate on the 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz frequencies. Signal coverage is therefore very good under any conditions. Connection to the Internet is guaranteed by the internal modem, which handles data traffic in HSDPA. Viewing web pages thus becomes very fast, thanks to the HTML browser. You can also take advantage of distributed networks, thanks to the Wi-Fi antenna. In addition, it is possible to exchange files with other devices thanks to Bluetooth or the USB 2.0 cable.

Design and features

Great care was taken in creating the structure. The body is the classic Nokia Candybar, which gives a sense of compactness and sturdiness. The colors are elegant and refined, giving a sense of sober importance. The edges are rounded for a comfortable grip, making the phone's portability truly excellent. This is also thanks to its compact dimensions: 9.9 mm thick for a weight of just 98 grams. The front is occupied by the screen, a 240x320 pixel TFT, capable of displaying up to 16 million colors. Just below is the directional pad with the classic Nokia function keys and the standard numeric keypad, with comfortable keys to use. The retail package includes the stereo headset and the data cable, as well as a 1 GB memory card.

Main features
The classic set of functions could not be missing; here then is the advanced contact book, the organizer for keeping track of appointments and activities, the calculator, the alarm clock and the currency converter. This is thanks to the successful Symbian S60 platform, complete, convenient and intuitive to use. Nokia also offers many additional applications that can be installed, also compatible with Java support. SMS, multimedia messages and E-mail are easily and quickly composed, thanks to support for T9 predictive text. The voice department, on the other hand, offers the possibility of making multiconference calls, or using hands-free sound diffusion. The dedicated camera also allows you to make video calls. In addition, there is support for Push-to-Talk, to use the phone as a real walkie-talkie.

Entertainment and multimedia
A phone as dynamic as the E52 certainly could not do without entertainment tools. The rear camera in fact allows you to take good quality photographs, thanks to the 3.2 megapixel optics, also relying on Zoom and autofocus functions. The available memory is 60 MB standard, expandable if needed thanks to microSD cards up to 16 GB. This way there will be plenty of space to store data, such as audio and video files in various formats. The multimedia player will take care of their faithful playback; it also supports reception of AM/FM radio broadcasts. The E52 can also be used as a satellite navigator, thanks to the GPS receiver and Nokia Maps software. The 1500 mAh battery guarantees good operating autonomy, up to 432 hours in Stand-by.
