Nokia C6-01 review
Network and connections
A very interesting phone, not excessively priced but with excellent functions. The Nokia C6-01 is equipped with a Quadband GSM network receiver with Dual Mode support, meaning it is also able to exploit UMTS frequencies. A phone that makes connecting to the Internet its main strength, for launching into the Web beyond any limit. This is why the internal modem is equipped with HSDPA data traffic management, so as to reach a truly high speed; in this way the HTML browser can open pages without any problems. Or it is also possible to connect to the Internet thanks to Wi-Fi support. Obviously the classic Bluetooth and USB data output are present.
Design and features
Simple but still carefully crafted lines, soft on the edges to offer a comfortable and secure grip. The dimensions remain in line with the average: 13.9 mm thick and 131 grams in weight. The upper part is occupied by the 3.2-inch AMOLED display. It is equipped with Capacitive Touch Screen technology, also in 16:9 mode. For the best usability of the functions it is also able to orient itself automatically. The keyboard, on the other hand, appears on the screen, to be used with the fingers.
Main features
Internet browsing is unparalleled, with functions dedicated to video Streaming or Instant Messaging. Text writing is truly fast, thanks to the extended keyboard and T9 support. This way, composing short SMS messages or more elaborate E-mails will be child's play, also managing attachments with Pocket Office. The classic management functions such as the contacts address book and the organizer for appointments are complete. It is also possible to manage your own Web spaces, such as MySpace blogs or Facebook directly on the go. The TV-out output can also prove useful, for projecting presentations or images. The built-in speakerphone offers good audio quality; furthermore, video calls can be made thanks to the front-facing camera.
Entertainment and multimedia
The entertainment sector is also complete, thanks to the camera with as much as 8 megapixels. This makes it possible to obtain stunning photographs, to be immediately retouched with the appropriate adjustments. The dedicated functions are also varied, from Zoom to Dual LED Flash and autofocus. The available memory is abundant, as much as 340 MB further expandable up to 32 GB with microSD cards. This way it is possible to store music, videos and files in quantity. The multimedia player will take care of faithfully reproducing every format. The GPS receiver is also present. A device of this caliber needs a notable battery; hence the 1050 mAh guarantee a duration of up to 372 hours in Stand-by.
