Nokia C5 review
Network and connections
A low cost phone for a very wide audience, the C5 integrates everything necessary while maintaining a good value for money. Dual-type technology, with Quadband GSM and UMTS, allows perfect signal reception in every country in the world. High quality is also shown in the support for fast data transfer: GPRS/EDGE. Together with the built-in modem and the HTML browser, it becomes an excellent tool for browsing the Web. And to exchange images and files with friends, there are also Bluetooth and USB 2.0 connection.
Design and features
The shapes of this Nokia smartphone follow the classic Candybar design. However, the lines have been slightly redesigned, giving softer and more rounded contours. Standard keyboard in Nokia style, with the convenient central key to scroll through menus. Above it instead, the wide 2.2-inch QVGA TFT screen, with 16 million color crystals. Everything is enclosed in compact dimensions, for a weight of only 89 grams. Included in the package is a 2 GB microSD card.
Main features
A pocket companion like the Nokia C5 must offer practical and convenient utilities. Organizer, built-in speakerphone and phone book with advanced contact management are just some of the applications. The Quick Office package allows you to edit and view text documents and spreadsheets. Also interesting is the ambient light sensor, which allows you to automatically adjust the screen contrast and save energy. E-mail and messaging services such as SMS and MMS complete the range of functions, together with voice calling. It is also possible to manage your own Facebook space or Instant Messaging directly from the phone.
Entertainment and multimedia
On the back of the C5 you immediately notice the camera, on which you can read a definition of 3.2 megapixels. Thanks to a powerful LED flash and autofocus, every photo will be perfectly sharp, as will the videos captured. The multiformat player is instead able to play audio and video collections, as well as FM radio stations complete with RDS support. In addition, an added value is given by the built-in GPS receiver, with Nokia Ovi Maps 3.0 software for navigation.
