Nokia C1-02 review
Network and connections
Younger brother of the C1-01, this other Nokia model differs due to the lack of the VGA camera. It remains practically identical in all other specifications, with essential features suited to an undemanding audience. Network support is GSM Dualband, which guarantees sufficient signal coverage; UMTS mode is not available, however. The internal modem with GPRS data traffic management allows browsing in WAP, through the dedicated browser. Bluetooth proves useful for exchanging files with compatible devices. A USB port is also present for syncing the phone directly with your home PC.
Design and features
You immediately notice how handy and comfortable the phone is to carry in your pocket. Its dimensions are indeed compact, with a very contained weight; the Candybar design also allows for a slim thickness, with 13.8 mm and a weight of just 77.5 grams. On the front is the display, a 1.8-inch TFT, capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. In the lower part, meanwhile, is the standard keypad, with comfortable, well-arranged keys.
Main features
An Entry Level phone is by definition a device that is not very complex, offering basic but nonetheless good quality features. This is why the C1-02 includes address book management, calendar, and alarm clock with customizable ringtones, along with voice features such as speakerphone and voice recorder. Nokia's proprietary platform also allows you to expand content according to your needs, thanks to Java support for compatible applications. There's also support for writing SMS and multimedia messages with quick T9 composition, as well as for E-mail. It's also possible to use Instant Messaging programs.
Entertainment and multimedia
The Nokia C1-02 is truly limited to the essentials, but it proves good for leisure moments. You can indeed play mp3 audio files without any problems, to be saved on expandable memory up to 8 GB. There is also an AM/FM radio antenna, complete with RDS function. During leisure time you can also use simple pre-installed games, or install new compatible ones. As already mentioned, the digital camera is missing, which is instead present in the C1-01 model. The 1020 mAh lithium battery guarantees operating autonomy of up to 504 hours in Stand-by.
