Design and features
Compact and elegant, Nokia 9500 presents a standard horizontal design, similar to the immediately preceding model, called Nokia 9300, from which it differs in the gray color and the Wi-Fi connectivity. On the outside it presents the features of a classic cell phone, with an intuitive numeric keypad. On the inside, however, it presents the features of a handheld device. It is in fact equipped with a QWERTY keyboard that allows easy composition of long texts. The weight of the device is 230 grams, while the dimensions reach 148 mm in height, 57 mm in width and 24 mm in depth. The integrated antenna does not affect overall handling. The standard equipment is completed by the travel charger and the PC Suite software.
Main features
This smartphone has many functions, starting with all the Office-type tools: documents, spreadsheets, presentations, organizer and synchronization to the PC via the supplied software. In addition to the above functions, there are voice functions such as hands-free and the possibility of multi-conference calls. As for messaging, Nokia 9500 supports all standards: SMS, EMS, MMS, E-mail and Fax, always with the help of the facilitated T9 system. The memory is 80 MB, expandable via MMC-type cards.
Entertainment and multimedia
Regarding the entertainment section, the model supports polyphonic ringtones, screensavers and Java applications, with the possibility of downloading new content through the built-in WAP browser. The feature of greatest interest is the multimedia player, which allows playback of MP3 music files and MPEG4 video. The two main shortcomings of this product are the lack of an integrated radio and the modest contribution of the integrated camera (VGA with 640x480 pixel resolution).
