Nokia 8910 review
Network and connections
Nokia 8910 is a "Dual-band" GSM cell phone, able to operate on the 900 and 1800 Mhz frequencies and equipped with HSCSD and GPRS data connections. This model features the use of Bluetooth wireless technology and allows the exchange of small files via the infrared port (IrDa). Unfortunately, USB connection to a computer is not possible. This cell phone is equipped with a single display. It has a size of 96x60 pixels and features a monochrome filter with 4 lines of text. Nokia 8910 is powered by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 830 mAh.
Design and features
Nokia 8910 is a device with a compact design, with a standard design but with a door that covers the keypad, then sliding underneath it (keep in mind that the phone was conceived in 2002, so it is quite far from current standards). It is a thin and lightweight model, elegant in appearance and well finished. The weight is about 110 grams, including the supplied battery. With the phone "closed," its overall dimensions are: 103 millimeters in height, 46 millimeters in width and 20 mm in thickness. The antenna is internal to the body of the cell phone and therefore does not increase its overall dimensions. This model is available in Black or Natural Titanium color. There is a numeric keypad, with medium-sized keys; the shape is slightly rounded at the top.
Main features
With Nokia 8910 you can make "multiconference" calls; the cell phone, however, is not equipped with a built-in speakerphone, although it allows voice-command calling. It is also possible to record short voice memos. As for messaging, this model only supports SMS. The predictive text input system also makes it easier to write messages and speeds up the use of the main functions. Unfortunately, the internal memory cannot be expanded with additional cards. Finally, the phone is equipped with alarm clock, calculator, and calendar functions so as not to miss important appointments.
Entertainment and multimedia
Nokia 8910 comes with several polyphonic ringtones, screensavers and Java (J2ME) games, with the possibility of downloading new content via the built-in WAP browser. Unfortunately, it is not possible to enjoy melodies in MP3 format. The only concession regarding the musical aspect concerns the 35 monophonic ringtones. Nokia 8910, moreover, does not offer the possibility of taking photos or recording and playing back video sequences.
