Nokia 8310 review

Network and connections

Very similar to the previous 8210, the Nokia 8310 model presents itself as a Dual Band cell phone, but with the added value of a Wap browser that allows access to the Web. An absolute novelty for the period in which this model was presented, announced in the year 2001. The two operating frequencies of the model are the classic ones, 900 and 1800 Mhz, for a use restricted to European soil only. There is an IrDa port and GPRS class 4 connectivity.

Design and features

One-piece body like all early Nokia cell phones and beyond, almost identical to the model that preceded it, Nokia 8310 is a model available in original colors and with interchangeable covers. It weighs 84 grams with standard battery included and features a single monochrome display with 5 lines of text. The dimensions are: 97 x 43 x 19 millimeters, with a total volume of 66 cc. The internal battery is 830 mAh and offers autonomy of up to 400 hours maximum (phone idle) or 4 hours (phone in call mode).

Main functions

Futuristic for the time of its presentation, the 8310 offers three important resources. First, the possibility to view Web pages thanks to the support of the Wap browser. Second, Voice Command, through which you can store the recording of a name to associate with contacts in the address book, so that you can then quickly recall them by pronouncing that name. With Voice Record you can store voice notes. Finally, SMS messages are supported with the possibility of intuitive and fast writing. The address book stores up to 500 contacts for 3 phone numbers each.

Entertainment and multimedia

No multimedia resource is present in the Nokia 8310 cell phone except for an FM radio. As for entertainment, we can mention the four built-in games: Snake II, Pairs II, Bumper and Snowboard. There are 35 monophonic ringtones available, but another 5 can be composed as desired using the Composer. Six tone levels for ringtones and ten volume levels for the cell phone. Additional games can be downloaded via Wap.
