Nokia 8110 review

Network and connections

Nokia 8110 is not a super-equipped model. It is in fact a Mono Band introduced back in 1998, meaning a device that uses only the GSM 900 Mhz frequency. This mobile phone does not have any type of connection with other devices, neither via cable nor wireless, since it lacks a USB port and Bluetooth/IrDa technologies. There isn't even an IrDa port, for data transfer on the go, which was nonetheless present on some models of the time. The display is monochrome with 4 x 13 characters.

Design and features

Nokia 8110 is a simple cell phone. As far as design is concerned, it is not a device with a futuristic shape, but a simple candybar, that is, a standard handset with a one-piece body, even though a sliding cover protects the numeric keypad. The menu is easy to understand and simple to navigate, also thanks to the central navigation key. The handset is housed in a thin but not light body (152 grams), with an antenna protruding from the device. The retail package also includes stereo earphones.

Main features

Nokia 8110 is equipped with multi-conferencing for up to 5 + 1 contacts simultaneously, alarm clock, clock, calculator, reminder and calendar. As for messaging, Nokia 8110 offers the ability to send and manage Sms, though not concatenated and without support for the T9 predictive text system, and it does not handle Mms and E-mail. The available memory allows storage of 125 contacts in the phonebook.

Entertainment and multimedia

Although this Nokia model does not offer particular features, it does provide 15 different monophonic ringtones. Obviously, it is not possible to add other data since there is no type of external connection whatsoever. There aren't even any pre-installed games. The downside is that it is absolutely not possible to download video games, ringtones, screensavers or anything else from the network, since this cell phone is not equipped with a browser.
