Nokia 7700 review
Network and connections
Nokia 7700 is a Tri-Band GSM cell phone, meaning it is able to receive and make calls on three different frequencies: 900, 1800 and 1900 Mhz, with GPRS-type data transfer. This latter technology proves reliable but not particularly fast. As for connectivity, Nokia 7700 offers EDGE and Bluetooth compatibility, for the use of various wireless peripherals, while via cable it allows connection to a PC through the USB port.
Design and features
As for design, Nokia 7700 belongs to the category of "candybar" or one-piece handsets, but it is very distinctive, since the display orientation is horizontal and the cell phone looks more like a joystick. The phone is fairly thin (22 mm) but overall it is not particularly compact and weighs as much as 183 grams. The rounded corners make the grip more comfortable to the touch and the built-in antenna doesn't add any further bulk to the structure. The screen is very large (as much as 640x320 pixels) and occupies the entire upper part of the front casing, in a horizontal direction.
Main features
Nokia 7700 offers the speakerphone function, available through the handy built-in speaker. Voice multi-conferencing is also available, to talk with multiple users simultaneously. Voice Memo allows you to store partial blocks of conversation or audio sequences. A further option is voice-command calling. In the messaging department, this cell phone ensures compatibility with all the latest standards: it is in fact possible to send and receive Sms, Mms and E-mail, with T9 predictive text software. Finally, the Flight function deserves mention, for using the functions allowed on airplanes. The alarm clock and organizer are, as always, included. The built-in memory is 25 MB and can be expanded via microSD expansion cards.
Entertainment and multimedia
This cell phone is equipped with FM radio and is able to play MP3 and AAC audio formats, as well as MP4 and 3GP video formats. These features make it an excellent multimedia player. The model also offers the innovative Flight usage function (on airplanes). Nokia 7700 features a VGA camera, equipped with a sensor with a resolution of 0.3 Megapixel. It allows you to take photographs with the ability to adjust brightness and contrast depending on environmental conditions. The device is also equipped with self-timer and digital zoom.
