Nokia 7650 review
Network and connections
Another cell phone introduced in the first quarter of 2002, and therefore not particularly well equipped in terms of connectivity. It is a Dual Band device operating on GSM frequencies of 900 and 1800 Mhz, guaranteeing only European coverage. This connection is combined with GPRS class 5 support (speed reached 24-36 kbps) and a Wap browser of type 1.2.1. Through this latter connectivity it is possible to connect to Web pages compatible with the system. There is also Bluetooth 1.1.
Design and features
The lithium-ion battery of 750 mAh supplied with the Nokia 7650 has a declared battery life of 230 hours in stand-by and 4 hours maximum talk time. As for design characteristics, the cell phone belongs to the category of devices with a sliding opening, although the keyboard is arranged in an original way and the covers are interchangeable. Weight of 154 grams, dimensions 114x56x26 millimeters. TFT display with 4096 colors and 176x208 pixel resolution.
Main functions
Calendar, currency converter and calculator open the admittedly modest series of main functions of the 7650 model. It makes use of Voice Dial as a resource to associate a voice command with 10 contacts in the phonebook. The latter hosts unlimited contacts thanks to 4 MB of memory and allows viewing the last calls made, missed and received for as long as 30 days. Ringtones are polyphonic or monophonic.
Entertainment and multimedia
Entertainment is exclusively entrusted to games and messaging, as the phone has no other resources, for example on the musical side. Java support allows downloading other games from the Web (as mentioned, the Wap connection is present) in addition to those already present on the phone. Downloading ringtones is also possible. Messaging includes SMS and MMS with the intuitive writing system called T9, as well as e-mail and Instant Messaging. There is a digital camera of low resolution (0.3 Megapixel) for capturing images at 640x480 pixels.
