Nokia 7310 Supernova review

Network and connections
One of the first phones launched by Nokia in the Supernova series, equipped with the quality that sets the Finnish company apart from the competition. First of all, this is a device with GSM Triband network support. This means it is able to operate on the 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz frequencies. Signal coverage is therefore very good in any condition. Connection to the Internet network is guaranteed by the presence of an internal modem, which handles data traffic in GPRS and EDGE. Viewing pages thus becomes very fast, thanks to the WAP browser. Additionally, it is possible to exchange files with other devices thanks to Bluetooth or the USB 2.0 cable.

Design and features

Great care has been put into the creation of the structure. The shell is the classic Nokia Candybar, which gives a sense of compactness and sturdiness. The colors are bright and fun, meant to appeal to a young audience as well. The edges are rounded to provide comfort in the grip, making the portability of the phone truly excellent. This is also thanks to its compact dimensions: 12 mm thick for a weight of only 83 grams. The front is occupied by the screen, a 2-inch TFT capable of displaying up to 16 million colors. Just below is the directional pad with the classic Nokia function keys and the standard numeric keypad, with keys that are comfortable to use. Inside the sales package you will find the stereo headset and an XpressOn cover.

Main features
The classic feature package could not be missing; so here is the advanced contacts directory, the organizer to keep track of appointments and activities, the calculator, the alarm clock and the currency converter. The voice section, on the other hand, offers the possibility of making multiconference calls, or using sound output in speakerphone mode. Also present is support for Push-to-Talk, to use the phone as a real walkie-talkie. The platform is proprietary, but Nokia offers many additional applications that can be installed, also compatible with Java support. SMS, multimedia messages and E-mail are easily and quickly composed, thanks to support for T9 predictive text.

Entertainment and multimedia
A phone as dynamic as the 7310 Supernova certainly could not do without tools for leisure. The rear camera in fact allows you to take good quality photographs, thanks to the 2 megapixel optics, also relying on Zoom and autofocus functions. Available memory is 32 MB standard, which can optionally be expanded thanks to microSD type cards. This way there will be room to store large amounts of data, such as audio and video files in various formats. The media player will take care of their faithful playback; it also supports the reception of AM/FM radio broadcasts. In addition, it is possible to project multimedia content onto an external screen, via the dedicated output and the video cable. The 800 mAh battery guarantees good operating autonomy, up to 300 hours in Stand-by.
