Nokia 7020 review
Network and connections
A phone dedicated to a wide audience, thanks to the complete set of tools it offers at an affordable price. Starting with the technical features, we can mention the Quadband GSM receiver, which guarantees excellent signal coverage. UMTS support is missing, however. With the internal GPRS/EDGE modem you can browse the Internet quickly, viewing pages with the dedicated WAP/HTML browser. The handy Bluetooth, on the other hand, allows you to exchange files with compatible devices. It is also possible to sync with your home PC.
Design and features
The exterior look is a simple clamshell but manages to stand out thanks to the contrasting colors. The dimensions remain compact for handling without compromise: 17.3 mm thick for 86 grams of weight. The front houses a monochrome auxiliary display, for viewing quick information. Inside, instead, is the main screen, a 2.2-inch TFT capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors. Also inside is the standard alphanumeric keypad, on a smooth and glossy surface.
Main features
The proprietary platform proves complete and functional right from the start. Java support, however, allows the installation of additional software as desired, so as to best customize your device. Receiving and sending messages is really quick, as is writing E-mails, thanks to support for predictive text. The English-Chinese dictionary is a particular highlight. As for the purely telephone-related aspect, you can count on speakerphone, voice recorder, and multiconference support.
Entertainment and multimedia
The Nokia 7020 also proves very capable in the entertainment department. The built-in camera has a resolution of 2 megapixels. Thanks to the dedicated functions, it allows you to take quality photos, as well as record short videos. The memory available to the user is 45 MB, further expandable via microSD cards up to 16 GB. This way, you can always keep your favorite audio and video files with you, to be played back with the dedicated multimedia player. There is also an AM/FM radio receiver, for listening to broadcasts while on the move, complete with RDS function. Battery life is also good, with 360 hours of Stand-by autonomy.
