Nokia 6730 classic picture review
Network and connections
An absolutely complete and top-quality Nokia phone, introduced in 2009 by the Finnish company. The 6730 Classic Picture is a GSM Quadband, on 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHZ frequencies to guarantee an optimal level of coverage. UMTS networks are also supported, adding mobile functionality to the device. Packet data traffic is handled via HSDPA, ensuring high speeds while browsing the Internet. The HTML browser can indeed open pages just like with home ADSL. The USB data cable allows you to sync every piece of information with your PC; Bluetooth is instead handy for exchanging files with other compatible devices. A Wi-Fi antenna is missing, but that's not a big deal.
Design and features
The compact dimensions of the Candybar body make the 6730 Classic Picture a daily companion, precisely because of its reduced bulk, which allows for excellent portability. The thickness is in fact just 12.6 mm, while the weight is 83 grams. The front houses the display, a 2.2-inch TFT, capable of displaying up to 16 million colors; this way you always get vivid and bright images. Just below is Nokia's classic multifunction directional pad, truly handy for managing every function, along with the dedicated keys. The keypad is a standard alphanumeric one, with well-separated and comfortable-to-use keys. The retail package includes the USB 2.0 cable and stereo earphones, as well as a handy 1 GB memory card.
Main features
As is now well known, Nokia equips its phones with absolutely intuitive platforms to use, which greatly simplify menu navigation and settings changes. Indeed, in this case we have Symbian Series 60 3.2, a guarantee of reliability, stability, and the ability to customize content. With Java support, it is indeed possible to install additional software, allowing every user to meet their own needs. T9 predictive text helps a lot with fast text composition, both for SMS and for E-mail. The Pocket Office suite allows you to read and edit various types of documents, making it easy to manage email attachments as well. The phone side is absolutely complete, with speakerphone, voice recorder, multi-conference support, and voice dialing. There is also a front-facing camera for making video calls. To stay in touch with friends online, Instant Messaging is also included.
Entertainment and multimedia
An excellent tool for managing office tasks, but definitely also great for filling your leisure time. Here is the rear camera with a resolution of a full 3.2 megapixels, capable of taking excellent quality photographs in any lighting condition, thanks to the LED Flash. You can also record videos with audio, to be stored in the 48 MB internal space; if that's not enough, it's easy to expand the memory up to 16 GB with microSD cards. The media player supports various audio and video formats, so you can always have your favorite files with you to play back faithfully. You can also listen to radio stations, thanks to the AM/FM antenna. Battery life is excellent, ensuring great operating autonomy: up to 500 hours in Stand-by.
