Network and connections

Nokia 6708 is a phone classified as Tri-band: it is able to operate on three different frequencies (900, 1800 and 1900 Mhz). Since it is not a Dual Mode phone, the 6708 does not have UMTS connectivity, but only GPRS. As for wireless connections, Bluetooth and infrared (IrDa) are supported. A further connection is the one via USB cable with computers. There is a large 65,000-color screen, sharp and very well defined.

Design and features

As far as design is concerned, Nokia 6708 is a model with a so-called standard or monoblock design. It is a compact device, with built-in antenna, whose weight is not particularly contained (as much as 150 grams). The area below the display is entirely occupied by the quick access keys to the main functions (some of which are dedicated specifically to the playback of multimedia files) and by the convenient pad for navigating the menus.

Main features

Nokia 6708 offers the possibility of using the hands-free function, thanks to the handy built-in speaker, and of voice-command calling. It is also possible to activate multiconference, which allows you to talk with several users connected simultaneously. Voice Memo, on the other hand, allows you to store audio sequences and partial blocks of conversation. As for messaging, the phone offers full compatibility with Sms, Ems, Mms and E-mail, composable in an intuitive way thanks to the integrated predictive text software. The built-in memory, finally, is 18 MB and is easily expandable via microSD cards.


Entertainment and multimedia

Through the WAP browser it is possible to download various multimedia contents, such as polyphonic ringtones, screensavers and Java games. The phone is also equipped with an excellent Photo Album, and the multimedia department proves to be very rich. In fact, there is a video player that allows you to play movies such as MP4 and 3GP, and an MP3/AAC audio player. Nokia 6708 also boasts a camera: it is equipped with a sensor with an effective resolution of 1.3 Megapixels, which allows you to take photographs of decent quality, with the possibility of using zoom, flash and self-timer. Video recording is also provided.
