Network and connections

Nokia 6555 is a Quad-band device, as it operates on 4 different GSM frequencies: 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 Mhz. The model, being a Dual Mode, offers very extensive network compatibility on a global level. It does, in fact, have UMTS connectivity (as well as EDGE and GPRS) for very fast network access. Nokia 6555 is also equipped with Bluetooth technology, for easy file exchange and for the use of numerous accessories. Both the 16 million color display and the battery are very good.

Design and features

Nokia 6555 is characterized by a very modern and compact line, with a clamshell opening. The camera is positioned completely separate from the main body of the phone, which definitely increases its dimensions and weight (97 grams and measurements of 99.6x44.3x19.6 mm). The antenna is integrated and the color tones are Black, Red, Beige and Silver. The backlit keypad is practical and functional and features a scrolling navigation button for the main menu functions.

Main features

Fundamental features include the hands-free mode, Voice Dial and the sound recorder (Voice Memo). Also usable are third generation services, such as video calls and video messages. The completeness of the device is also reflected in its messaging capabilities: Sms, Ems, Mms, and E-mail are all supported. Memory is 30 MB and is further expandable.

Entertainment and multimedia

There are many resources related to entertainment and leisure. Nokia 6555 includes, in fact, an excellent music player with support for MP3, AAC, Real Audio, WAV, AMR and Midi. It's also possible to download new video games thanks to Java (J2ME) technology and the built-in WAP browser. Nokia 6555 also integrates a digital camera that offers very good quality performance. The image sensor has an effective resolution of 1.23 Megapixel, for a maximum image definition of 1280x1024 pixels. Flash, self-timer, contrast control and brightness adjustment are also available. 6555 also allows video recording and image editing.
