Nokia 6310i review

Network and connections

Nokia 6310i is a Tri-Band GSM cell phone, meaning it is able to receive and make calls on three different frequencies: 900, 1800 and 1900 Mhz. For data traffic, two types of connection are available: HSCSD and GPRS. Bluetooth allows the use of wireless peripherals and file exchange with other compatible devices. To connect to a computer, the IrDa port is also available. The phone features a large front screen: it measures 96x60 pixels and offers a TFT matrix with a monochrome filter. Battery life is good.

Design and features

In terms of design, the Nokia 6310i is included in the range of phones with a standard or monobloc design. The phone's dimensions are compact: it is 129 millimeters long, 47 mm wide and 21 mm thick. The antenna is integrated into the body, for maximum handling ease. The weight is not particularly low: 111 grams, battery included. The keypad is revealed in the lower part. It features alphanumeric keys of medium-large size, in addition to the navigation control and the quick access keys.

Main features

During a call, Nokia 6310i allows you to take advantage of the Voice Memo/Voice Command function, usable thanks to the built-in speaker. The voice multiconference function, on the other hand, allows you to have a conversation with multiple terminals simultaneously. Thanks to Voice Memo it is possible to save partial blocks of conversation or store voice notes. Unfortunately, voice Dial is not present. As for messaging, this phone only supports SMS, easily composed thanks to the predictive text software. Finally, the alarm clock, calculator and organizer functions are, as always, present. Memory is rather limited.

Entertainment and multimedia

Nokia 6310i offers its users polyphonic ringtones, screensavers and Java (J2ME) games, with the possibility of downloading new content through the built-in WAP browser. Unfortunately, the phone lacks an AM/FM radio, and also an MP3 music file player. Nokia 6310i doesn't even have a camera function, so the multimedia aspect is completely absent.
