Network and connections


Nokia 6288 is a Dual Mode cell phone, capable of switching
automatically from the UMTS network to the GSM one, and vice versa.
Being a Tri-band terminal, it can operate on the GSM
frequencies of 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. The USB interfaces
and the wireless Bluetooth and IrDa connections make this
product highly versatile and usable in any situation.



Design and features


As far as design is concerned, this is an elegant slide-up model.
It is the control located on the side that reveals the numeric keypad,
which is found inside a light and
compact body. The integrated antenna enhances its handiness.
Very pleasant are the two available colors: Cool White and
Black. Being a very well finished cell phone, one notices
the manufacturer's attention and care regarding the
aesthetic details and the software features.



Main features


The many features of Nokia 6288 include the management and
sending of Sms, Ems, Mms and E-mail messages, with the addition of
support for video messages and the T9
predictive text system. The available memory is 512 MB, thanks to the
card included in the package, and it is expandable via the MiniSD
slot. The battery, lastly, offers good power: 970 mAh
capable of providing a battery life of about 180 minutes
of talk time and up to 250 hours on standby.



Entertainment and multimedia


Particularly noteworthy is the integrated FM radio, which offers
no small convenience in the world of mobile telephony. The
system also offers a music file player in MP3 and
AAC format, as well as an MPEG-4 player for viewing
video clips. The integrated Java technology also
allows the installation of numerous compatible games and applications. Very
sharp is the digital camera, equipped with a 2
Megapixel sensor, which allows you to capture sharp images
that are perfectly detailed. The resolution of the internal
video camera, however, is lower but the latter is designed
essentially to ensure a "face to
face" conversation during video calls between two parties.
