Nokia 6131 review

Network and connections

Nokia 6131 is a cell phone that meets multiple needs. Thanks to Quad-band connectivity (850-900-1800-1900 Mhz), it is able to perform its functions all over the world. Data support is of the GPRS type, reliable but not very fast, while Bluetooth and IrDa wireless technologies allow files to be exchanged between compatible devices and the use of numerous dedicated accessories. The USB connector, on the other hand, allows any content to be transferred from the phone to the PC and vice versa.

Design and features

This is a clamshell terminal. This shape and the built-in antenna allow for a large display (320x240 pixels), protected against scratches and impacts, without affecting the overall dimensions of the phone, which remain compact. Overall it is a well-finished and rather elegant device, which offers the possibility of changing the covers as in the old Nokia models.

Main features

Nokia 6131 offers the possibility of using messages in Sms, Mms, E-mail format with the aid of the T9 predictive text system. The "Push to talk" technology, on the other hand, allows the phone to be used as if it were a walkie talkie, simply by pressing the dedicated key. The model is also equipped with voice recording and voice calling features. Memory is 32 MB and is expandable via MicroSD cards.

Entertainment and multimedia

Nokia 6131 is a capable player of music files in MP3/AAC format, as well as video clips. What enhances it is certainly the presence of the built-in FM radio. This phone also has Java J2ME compatibility, thanks to which it is possible to use many games and applications, even downloading them from the network with the built-in browser. The camera, finally, is of average level: 1.3 Megapixel sensor and 8x digital zoom, with brightness and contrast adjustment. Unfortunately, it lacks a flash.
