Network and connections
This model is a Tri-band GSM device (900, 1800, 1900 Mhz) with EDGE and GPRS connectivity, which guarantee good performance, even if not comparable to 3G terminals. The operating system is Symbian 8.1 series 60. Nokia 6111 also supports Bluetooth wireless technology, as well as IrDa, and is equipped with a USB port.
Design and features
Nokia 6111 is available in three different colors: black, silver and pink. The slide design enhances its elegance. The integrated antenna and the slide-up structure highlight the compactness of the phone, which can easily be put away in a pocket. The numeric keypad is revealed by pressing a side control and its buttons are of adequate size, even if very close to one another. On the outer front, on the other hand, is the display, sharp and clear, with 262000 colors. Finally, the retail package includes the travel charger, original stereo headphones and the CD-ROM with the Nokia PC Suite software.
Main features
As for messaging, Nokia 6111 supports Sms, Mms and E-mail formats, with the aid of the T9 predictive text system. The battery powering the device is lithium-ion, 700 mAh, and offers a battery life of about 192 hours in standby and up to 190 minutes of talk time. The user has 23 MB of internal memory available and, unfortunately, expansion via additional memory cards is not possible. The phone also features polyphonic ringtones, built-in speakerphone, voice-command calling and audio recorder.
Entertainment and multimedia
As a multimedia player, Nokia 6111 allows the playback of MP3, AAC and MIDI tracks. There is also a handy built-in FM radio, which helps pass the time during the day. Listening is possible through the headphones or through the built-in speaker, whose power is above the average for the category. Java technology, on the other hand, allows the use of the five pre-installed games and offers the user the possibility of downloading new ones from the network via the WAP/xHTML browser. Finally, the built-in camera is decent, with a 1 Megapixel sensor (1152 x 864 pixel), flash and 6x digital zoom.
