Nokia 6103 review

Network and connections

The three network frequencies supported by this model, 900,
1800 and 1900 Mhz, allow it to take advantage of worldwide GSM
coverage. Nokia 6103 also offers EDGE and GPRS data
transfer technologies, reliable and secure but with performance
not comparable to that of 3G handsets. Short-range
connections, besides the USB cable, are guaranteed
by Bluetooth wireless compatibility and by IrDa infrared compatibility.

Design and features

Nokia 6103 belongs to the category of clamshell
phones. Opening it reveals a practical, backlit
numeric keypad, with a wide navigation control. The
line is compact and elegant and the feature that most catches
the eye is the external antenna. This is a rather
rare feature in new-generation phones, which all have
an integrated antenna. As for the body colors, the
two color variants available to users are black
and red.

Main features

The built-in speakerphone, conference calling, Voice Memo and
Voice Dial are the value-added features offered by
Nokia 6103. As for messaging, this
model can handle and send Sms, Mms and e-mail messages.
To help the user write long texts, T9 technology is available,
common in devices from the Finnish company.
Memory is only 4.4 MB, too little to guarantee an adequate
storage space.

Entertainment and multimedia

The built-in Java technology allows you to have fun with the three
built-in games and to download new ones from the network, via the
integrated WAP browser. There is also a practical MP3 music file
player and an FM radio, very useful for passing the time
while on the move. The integrated camera is of the VGA type, with
contrast and brightness adjustment, able to
capture photographs at a maximum resolution of 640x480 pixels,
as well as videos in 3gp format.
