Nokia 6100 review

Network and connections

The Nokia 6100 cell phone was presented at the end of 2002. Considering this fact, it must be acknowledged that the model is really well equipped in terms of connections. First of all, it is a Tri-Band GSM, with coverage therefore extended to Europe and the United States. It also features a Wap 1.2.1 browser, a GPRS class 4 connection, and wireless connectivity provided by the infrared port. Finally, there's the HSCSD connection with a speed of 43.2 kbps.

Design and features

The design of this model is very classic and traditional, recalling the shapes of the first Nokia cell phones with built-in antenna. It is obviously a standard monoblock with a single 128x128 pixel resolution display. This monitor has a 4096 color filter, is CSTN type and holds 8 lines of text. The Nokia 6100 weighs only 76 grams, with dimensions of 102 mm in height, 44 mm in width and 13.5 mm in depth. Available in Dark Blue, Yellowish Beige or Light Blue, it has a lithium battery included for a battery life of 320 hours or 6 hours (stand-by or talk time).

Main functions

Not particularly rich in additional functions, the Nokia cell phone is positioned in the mid-range in this respect. It integrates hands-free and vibration, in addition to the usual calendar, alarm clock, clock, converter, calculator. The internal memory, not particularly large, allows storage of up to 150 SMS, 250 calendar notes or 35 images. The phonebook holds 300x3 contacts. It is possible to store the last 10 missed calls, 10 received and 10 made.

Entertainment and multimedia

The multimedia section is almost nonexistent, while the entertainment one is modest. Musical and photographic resources are absent. As for games, besides the built-in Puzzle Chess, it is possible to download without compatibility issues thanks to Java support. There are 21 polyphonic ringtones with 4 voices and 10 monophonic ones. Messaging is limited to sending and receiving MMS and SMS (including concatenated ones and with T9 system).
