Network and connections


The Nokia 6080 falls into the category of Tri-Band GSM cell phones,
operating on three different frequencies: 900, 1800 and 1900 Mhz. The
phone offers secure and reliable data transfer, through
EDGE technology and the slower GPRS. There is also
an infrared connection to interface with other cell phones,
while, unfortunately, it lacks Bluetooth wireless technology,
essential nowadays. Finally, it's worth mentioning the possibility
of connecting to a personal computer via USB cable.



Design and features


The Nokia 6080 is a cell phone with a linear structure and
a "candybar" design, simple and rather elegant. The thickness
is reduced: only 18.6 millimeters. The antenna is built-in and does not
affect the handling of the device. The color options
of the Nokia 6080 are black and gold, and worth noting is the practicality
of the keypad, as well as the pad for navigating the menus.



Main features


The Nokia 6080 offers the ability to make multiconference
calls, to communicate with several connected devices
simultaneously. It is also possible to activate the speakerphone
function, usable thanks to the built-in speaker.
The device also has a voice recorder, Voice Dial
and the innovative Push-to-Talk function, which allows
the cell phone to be transformed into a true walkie-talkie. As for
messaging, the Nokia 6080 supports most
current standards: it is in fact capable of receiving
and sending Sms, Mms and E-mail, all easily composed with
the T9 predictive text software. Unfortunately its internal
memory is very limited: it is in fact only 4.3 MB and cannot be
expanded with additional memory cards.



Entertainment and multimedia


With the Nokia 6080 you can use polyphonic ringtones,
also making use of the built-in composer. It is also possible to
expand the availability of games, thanks to Java
(J2ME) technology and the WAP browser. This model is also equipped with
FM radio and can play video in MP4 format. The Nokia 6080
is fitted with a built-in VGA-type camera, with a maximum
resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The device has a
decent digital zoom and self-timer, but does not allow
capturing perfectly sharp and well-defined images. Finally,
video recording and photo editing software are also available.
