Nokia 5250 review

Network and connections
A mid-low range phone, but with qualities that are definitely of a good level for any user. The Nokia 5250 is equipped with a GSM Quadband network receiver, which offers absolutely excellent coverage anywhere in the world. However, support for UMTS traffic is not present. As for wireless, Bluetooth is handy for exchanging files with other devices. It's also possible to browse the Web, thanks to GPRS support for data traffic and the HTML browser. It's also possible to sync directly to a PC via the USB 2.0 cable.

Design and features
The design is classic Candybar, almost entirely covered on the front by the screen. This is a 2.8-inch TFT, capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors; the images are absolutely bright and sharp. It is also equipped with Resistive Touch Screen technology, for quick and optimal management of any content. The dimensions are in line with competing devices; we're talking about 107 grams in weight and 14 mm in thickness. The lines are simple and essential, but manage to give an appreciable elegance.

Main features
The Nokia 5250 comes with the Symbian S60 5th Edition platform, a guarantee of boundless potential. Customization is total, with the possibility of installing compatible applications also thanks to Java support. The menus and the desktop have been completely redesigned, with innovative solutions geared toward convenience and speed of use. The Touch Screen also allows content to be managed directly with your fingers. Text writing is handled by T9, making it quick to compose SMS, multimedia messages and E-mail. Support for Office and PDF documents is of course present. The voice side, on the other hand, consists of a hands-free speaker, voice recorder and support for multi-conferencing.

Entertainment and multimedia
Nokia doesn't abandon its user even in moments of leisure. That's why the 5250 is equipped with a powerful media player, with support for various audio and video formats. The sound quality is amazing, also thanks to the various possible mixer adjustments. Worth mentioning is the Ovi Music Unlimited service, for music directly from the network. To complete the offering there is a 2 megapixel camera, capable of taking good quality images, also thanks to dedicated functions. Portability is decidedly good, thanks to the 1000 mAh battery which guarantees a duration of up to 450 hours in Stand-by.
