Nokia 3710 fold review
Network and connections
A mid-low range device, still equipped with complete and practical functions. The Nokia 3710 Fold still retains the distinctive quality of the Finnish company. The network receiver is a GSM Quadband, which provides excellent coverage in any situation. It also features support for UMTS networks and offers the possibility of browsing the Internet, thanks to the internal GPRS and EDGE modem. It actually allows for correct display of HTML pages. For exchanging files with compatible devices, Bluetooth is excellent instead.
Design and features
Elegant and clean style, with glossy surfaces to give a sense of importance in any situation. The lines are softened towards the edges, so as to offer greater grip security and comfort. The body is in clamshell style, so as to reduce dimensions and offer greater protection to the internal display. The latter is a 2.2-inch QVGA TFT, capable of displaying up to 16 million colors. Also inside is the standard alphanumeric keyboard. The external front part instead features a secondary display, handy for viewing basic information such as time, battery charge, and caller number.
Main features
The classic Nokia menus, fast and intuitive to use for best managing every operation, always please those who don't look for overly refined and complicated devices. So on the 3710 Fold you can quickly manage the contacts list, organizer for appointments, calculator, alarm clock, and currency converter. Support for predictive text really helps a lot in composing text, so you can write SMS, multimedia messages, and even E-mails without any problems. The purely telephone aspect instead offers speakerphone, voice recorder, and support for multi-conferencing.
Entertainment and multimedia
To make sure nothing is missing, Nokia's designers have equipped this model with a digital camera, with a resolution of 3.2 megapixels. The quality of the images is excellent, as is that of the videos recorded directly from the phone. The internal memory is only 70 MB, a bit scarce to offer ample storage autonomy. For this reason, expansion up to 8 GB is possible via microSD cards. It is therefore possible to carry audio and video files to play back with the dedicated media player. There is also A-GPS support for satellite functions.
