Nokia 2720 fold review
Network and connections
An entry level device to offer a valid and functional alternative to the customer looking for simplicity and essentiality. The Nokia 2720 Fold still retains the distinctive quality of the Finnish company. The network receiver is a GSM Dualband, which provides excellent coverage although only at a local level, not suited for intercontinental travel. It does not have support for UMTS networks, however Internet browsing services are guaranteed by the GPRS and EDGE modem. It does in fact allow correct viewing of WAP pages. For exchanging files with compatible devices, Bluetooth is excellent instead.
Design and features
An elegant and clean style, with glossy surfaces to give a sense of importance in any situation. The lines are softened toward the edges, so as to offer greater security in grip and comfort. The body is in clamshell style, so as to reduce dimensions and offer greater protection to the internal display. The latter is a TFT 120x160 pixel, capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. Also inside is the standard alphanumeric keyboard. The external front part instead features an auxiliary display, convenient for viewing basic information such as time, battery charge, and caller number.
Main features
The classic Nokia menus, quick and intuitive to use to best manage every operation, always please those who are not looking for overly refined and complicated devices. Here then on the 2720 Fold you can quickly manage contact list, organizer for appointments, calculator, alarm clock, and currency converter. Support for predictive text truly helps a lot in composing text, so you can write SMS, multimedia messages, and even E-mails without problems. The purely telephone-related aspect instead offers speakerphone, voice recorder, and support for multi-conferencing.
Entertainment and multimedia
So as to leave nothing out, Nokia designers equipped this model with a digital camera, with a resolution of 1.3 megapixels. Compared to its bigger siblings and the now widespread video phones with high resolutions, the 2720 Fold still allows you to take photos of acceptable quality when needed. The internal memory is only 32 MB, a bit scarce for offering ample storage autonomy. It is nevertheless possible to carry audio and video files to play with the dedicated multimedia player. The battery life is excellent, however, lasting up to 432 hours in Stand-by.
