Nokia 2700 classic review
Network and connections
A very interesting Entry Level phone, able to combine complete functionality with a limited price. First of all, it is a Quadband GSM, able to work on frequencies of 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. This guarantees excellent network coverage anywhere in the world. UMTS support is not present, however Internet functionality is guaranteed by the internal modem, with data traffic management in GPRS/EDGE. This way the HTML browser can open pages quickly without problems. Bluetooth, on the other hand, is handy for exchanging files with other devices, as is the USB port for syncing with your home PC.
Design and features
The classic Nokia style doesn't betray itself even in the 2700 Classic. The one-piece structure makes this Candybar a simple but elegant phone. The glossy surfaces give it a more refined touch, making it stand out in any situation. The front contains the screen, a 240x320 pixel TFT, able to deliver vivid and bright images with up to 256,000 colors. The dimensions are quite compact, offering maximum portability: 14 mm thick and 85 grams in weight. Just below the screen you can find the directional pad, along with the classic Nokia function keys. The sales package includes the data cable and the earphones.
Main features
The 2700 Classic is part of the Series 40 and like all Nokia phones it offers simplicity in using the menus. Every function turns out to be truly intuitive and quick to use. It is also possible to install additional applications, thanks to Java support, so as to customize the device according to your needs. Support for T9 predictive text helps with quick text composition, so you can quickly write SMS and multimedia messages, as well as E-mails. Naturally, the classic management features are not missing, such as an address book for contacts, a calendar for personal appointments, an alarm clock and currency converter. The voice section offers the voice recorder, support for multiconference calls and the speakerphone.
Entertainment and multimedia
As mentioned at the start, the 2700 Classic is a device with a reasonable price, adaptable to any user to meet the needs of a wide audience. That's why it is also equipped with a 2 megapixel digital camera, able to guarantee sufficient quality when needed. It also allows you to record short videos. The available memory is only 64 MB, however it can be expanded up to 2 GB via microSD cards. This way you will have plenty of space to carry your favorite music with you, to be played back faithfully with the dedicated media player. There is also an AM/FM radio receiver, to listen to radio broadcasts anywhere. The lithium battery guarantees good operating autonomy, up to 288 hours in Stand-by.
