Nokia 1280 review

Network and connections
An absolutely simple and inexpensive phone, for undemanding users looking for reliability and convenience. Nokia therefore knows how to offer the right compromise with this 1280. It is equipped with a GSM Dualband receiver, on frequencies of 900 and 1800 MHz. Signal coverage is good, although intercontinental travel is not supported. All other connections are missing, such as Bluetooth, GPRS network support and Wap modem. A phone therefore reduced to the essentials for making calls.

Design and features
The classic Nokia Candybar shape immediately gives the idea of a solid phone, resistant to daily use, even in outdoor work environments. The style is simple, with uniform colors and compact dimensions: 15.3 mm thick and 81.9 grams in weight. The front houses the screen, a 1.4-inch TFT, with monochrome display. Just below is the clickable directional pad, along with the classic Nokia function keys. The keyboard is standard alphanumeric, with well-separated keys of comfortable size.

Main features
As already mentioned, the Nokia 1280 is a phone absolutely reduced to the bare essentials. The basic platform still allows you to manage the contacts list, a simple agenda for commitments and appointments, alarm clock, calculator and stopwatch. Support for T9 predictive text helps with text composition, so you can quickly send SMS. As for the voice aspect, it seems that speakerphone, multi-conference support and voice recorder are missing.

Entertainment and multimedia

In moments of leisure, this 1280 can offer simple pre-installed games. For the audio aspect, there is instead a receiver with AM/FM radio tuner, so you can listen to your favorite stations at any time. You can also manage polyphonic ringtones, to give a personal touch to your device. The battery life is excellent, lasting up to 528 hours in Stand-by.
