Nokia 1208 review
Network and connections
There's very little difference between the 1208 model and the previous Nokia 1200, at least in terms of connections. Only two networks are supported, on the classic frequencies of 900 and 1800 Mhz. A Dual Band cell phone, therefore, usable in Europe. It's impossible to talk about other types of connectivity, simply because they are completely absent: not even integrating a Wap browser, the Nokia 1208 cell phone does not make Internet connection feasible, and therefore limits data and program customization to the maximum extent.
Design and features
Weight, dimensions and a good 65,000-color display are the traits that enhance the Nokia 1208 cell phone compared to the immediately preceding models. In fact, the monitor present is a CSTN type at 96x68 pixels with a display area of about 29x23 mm and the supported colors make it an appealing tool. The lines of the model are rounded, the standard design is regular, perfect in shape, traditional. The weight is only 77 grams including the battery; the dimensions are 102 mm in height, 44.1 in width, with a minimum thickness of 17.5 mm.
Main features
The possibilities offered by this cell phone beyond pure calling functions are not many, since this is a model lacking particular connectivity. Worth remembering, then, are the standard functions, such as digital clock, stopwatch, calculator, alarm clock, reminder, converter. The hands-free speaker makes hands-free calling possible, while with the One Touch key it's possible to activate the backlight and use the device as a flashlight. The phonebook can hold up to 200 contacts; messaging only includes SMS, albeit concatenated and with a quick dialing system.
Entertainment and multimedia
The 4 MB of internal memory of the Nokia 1208 don't allow for much, also due to the absence of connections to external networks, without which it's impossible to download, for example, games or wallpapers. One must therefore settle for the three games included, and the 32-tone polyphonic ringtones also available in MP3 format. Other notable absences concern the camera, the multimedia player and the radio. For this reason the Nokia 1208 is not a tool for entertainment or fun, but simply a device for conversations.
