Nokia 1200 review
Network and connections
The operation of the Nokia 1200 cell phone covers the two main GSM frequencies used in Europe: 900 and 1800 Mhz. This means that the phone is characterized as Dual Band, and cannot be used, for example, in the United States. It is one of the less recently presented models, and therefore also one of the most basic in terms of functions. For this reason it does not include other connections, has no useful connectivity for the Web (not even a Wap browser), and is also poor in resources when it comes to simple communication.
Design and features
In pleasant black and blue shades, very rounded in its lines and sinuous to the visual impact, Nokia 1200 belongs to the category of classic monoblock phones from the Finnish company's production of years past. The phone is equipped with a monochrome display, not exciting, measuring 96x68 pixels, which offers a viewing area of about 29x23 mm. The green backlighting of the screen can be used as a flashlight. The weight of the model is only 77 grams, with dimensions of 102 mm in height, 44.1 mm in width and 17.5 mm in thickness.
Main features
Concatenated SMS that can be stored up to a maximum of 60, sending of multiple messages (to several recipients), quick text composition, a few in-call functions. That's as far as it goes for the main features of Nokia 1200, which offers a phonebook of up to 200 contacts, a digital clock, an alarm, a countdown timer and the classic stopwatch. Reminders, calendar, converter, calculator: nothing more. Worth remembering, in-call, is the speakerphone function.
Entertainment and multimedia
When it comes to entertainment too, Nokia 1200 is not among the best-equipped phones, quite the opposite. The total absence of any connection to the Web, for example, makes it impossible to add other entertainment and leisure solutions to the three games included. The only possibility, so to speak, for fun is made up of the 32-tone polyphonic ringtones, also available in MP3 format. There is no camera, MP3 player or radio. It is therefore a phone suited to those looking for nothing more than a tool for making calls, without expecting multimedia or entertainment features.
