Nokia 1101 review

Network and connections

The Nokia 1101 mobile phone is certainly not a champion of connections: its network coverage includes only two GSM operating bands, on 900 and 1800 Mhz frequencies. As for other available networks, it can be said that the only real connection is the one guaranteed by the Wap browser. This connection allows you to connect to the Web and is provided in version 1.1. An interesting feature is the one that allows direct access to URLs contained in SMS messages received via the Wap connection

Design and features

As per the tradition of the Finnish company Nokia, this phone, not exactly recent, belongs to the category of devices with standard design. Simple and linear in its aesthetics, it leaves no room for frills and stands out as a true monoblock mobile phone. The weight is very contained, as the phone reaches 86 grams. The dimensions include a height of 106 mm, a width of 46 and a thickness of 20 millimeters. The total volume is 72 cc. The display is monochrome with backlighting and 96x65 pixel resolution. The package includes a user manual and an 800 Mah battery (3 hours of talk time and 300 hours of stand-by).

Main functions

Not particularly rich in additional functions, the Nokia 1101 allows quick dialing of 9 numbers from the address book (by pressing the keys associated with them). Automatic redialing of the last number called is also possible, up to 10 attempts. Call waiting, hold, transfer and in-call timer: useful but basic functions, which characterize a mobile phone suited to those without particular needs. And for messaging, only SMS is supported (including concatenated messages and with an intuitive writing system). The memory holds up to 50 names and numbers and up to 50 SMS, as well as 20 dialed numbers: a modest provision.

Entertainment and multimedia

This model is of little use as an entertainment tool. In fact, it does not feature the multimedia functions that characterize mobile phones currently on the market. There is no camera, nor a multimedia player. The ringtones are preset and the only concession to customization is the ringtone composer (monophonic though). There are two built-in games: Snake II and Space Impact. Alarm clock, stopwatch, timer, countdown, vibration and flashlight are certainly not the most technological features a mobile phone can offer.
