Motorola ZN300 review

Network and connections
Motorola presents a complete phone capable of satisfying every type of need. The ZN300 is equipped with a GSM Quadband receiver, able to operate on the frequencies of 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. It does not support UMTS, however coverage will always be optimal. Internet services can be used without any problems, thanks to the internal modem and the HTML browser. Data traffic is managed via GPRS/EDGE. To exchange files with other devices, the wireless Bluetooth is useful; one can also use the USB data output to sync directly with a PC.

Design and features
The design has a great visual impact, with glossy surfaces and futuristic lines, which lend an important elegance while keeping simple lines softened at the edges. The front part contains the screen, a 240x320 pixel QVGA TFT, capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors. Images always come out bright and sharp. Just below are a directional pad, along with function keys to manage the device. The alphanumeric keyboard, on the other hand, is hidden inside, revealed through a vertical slider movement. The package includes the data cable and the earphones.

Main features
The platform the ZN300 comes with is Motorola proprietary. It already offers the classic management utilities, which are quite complete from every point of view. In addition, Java support allows the installation of additional compatible software, to customize the phone as much as possible according to each person's needs. Support for predictive text is really useful for quickly composing text messages, MMS and even E-mails. Furthermore, the Pocket Office package allows attachments to be managed without any problem. The voice section offers speakerphone, voice recorder and multi-conference support. Call audio quality is quite good.

Entertainment and multimedia
A truly dynamic phone, adaptable to any situation. It does not go without a 3.15 megapixel digital camera, capable of taking good quality photographs. It can also count on the presence of digital Zoom and Flash, along with other dedicated functions. You can also record short videos, to be stored in the available 8MB of space. The memory turns out to be decidedly scarce, however it can be expanded with microSD cards up to as much as 16 GB. This way you can always have your favorite music with you, to be played with the dedicated media player. The AM/FM radio frequency receiver, on the other hand, allows you to listen to the radio at any time. A mention also goes to the battery life, guaranteed up to 400 hours in Stand-by.
