Motorola WX295 review
Network and connections
An entry level device offered by Motorola, to provide a valid and functional alternative to the customer looking for simplicity and essentiality. The WX295 is equipped with a GSM Dualband network receiver, which provides excellent coverage even if only at a local level, not suited for intercontinental travel. It does not support UMTS networks, however WAP browsing services are guaranteed by the GPRS modem. It does in fact allow requested pages to be displayed correctly. There is also convenient Bluetooth for exchanging data with compatible devices.
Design and features
Simple and dynamic style, with lines softened toward the edges, so as to offer greater security in grip and comfort. The body opens in a clamshell fashion, so as to reduce dimensions and offer greater protection to the internal display. The latter is a 1.8 inch TFT capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. Also inside is the standard alphanumeric keyboard. The external front part instead features an auxiliary OLED display, handy for viewing basic information such as time, battery charge and caller number.
Main features
The menus are simple and intuitive to use to best manage every operation, always very much liked by those who are not looking for overly refined and complicated devices. So on the WX295 you can quickly manage the contacts address book, organizer for appointments, calculator, alarm clock and currency converter. Support for predictive text helps a lot in composing text, so you can write SMS and MMS without any problems, while E-mail is not supported. The purely telephone-related aspect instead offers speakerphone, voice recorder and support for multiconferencing.
Entertainment and multimedia
The features are simple but nonetheless complete. There is in fact a digital camera for taking photos or recording videos in VGA resolution. There is also an mp3 player, as well as the possibility of listening to your favorite radio broadcasts thanks to the AM/FM radio receiver, complete with RDS function. You can manage polyphonic ringtones, which can also be downloaded from the Internet. Or use the pre-installed games during moments of leisure. Battery life is excellent though, lasting up to 580 hours in Stand-by.
