Motorola VE66 review

Network and connections
This VE66 is a wonderful device from Motorola's house, equipped with network support thanks to a GSM Quadband receiver. The signal will always be optimal throughout the world, also thanks to support for UMTS networks. The wireless sector is decidedly complete, with Bluetooth to easily exchange files with other devices, or Wi-Fi to take advantage of distributed networks. To sync directly with a PC, you can instead use the included USB 2.0 cable. Furthermore, an integrated modem is provided, which together with the HTML browser allows you to surf the Internet, taking advantage of data transfer with the fast HSDPA, just like on a home ADSL connection.

Design and features
The design is very elegant, with refined and polished lines. The clamshell body hides a classic alphanumeric keyboard inside. On the front instead is the display, large with its 2.2 inches QVGA at 256 thousand colors. Just below is a multifunction directional pad, with dedicated keys to best manage every type of content. The dimensions are in line with devices in the same category: 15.2 mm thick and 110 grams in weight. The sales package includes the USB cable and stereo earphones.

Or even the text services, to write SMS and multimedia messages, as well as manage E-mail thanks to POP3 and IMAP support. The telephone sector boasts hands-free speakerphone, voice recorder and support for multi-conferencing. A dedicated camera also allows you to make video calls.

Entertainment and multimedia
As anticipated at the beginning, this Motorola VE66 is a device with strong multimedia qualities. It is in fact equipped with a digital camera of as much as 5 megapixels, which reaches a resolution of 2560x1920 pixels. The integrated Flash and the Zoom function allow you to obtain sharp and bright images, together with the various shooting modes, such as panorama and multi-shot. The dedicated software then allows you to touch up photos directly after shooting, making the images even more perfect. The available memory is generous, with 110 MB expandable thanks to a microSD card. In addition, the media player faithfully plays audio and video files of many formats. You can also listen to radio stations, thanks to the AM/FM receiver. All of this is supported by an 810 mAh lithium battery, for a duration of up to 400 hours in Stand-by.
