Motorola RAZR V3xx review

Network and connections

Motorola RAZR V3xx is the successor to the successful RAZR V3x model, a cell phone that is classified as Tri-Band and Dual Mode, meaning it is able to operate on three different GSM frequencies: 900, 1800 and 1900 Mhz, as well as on the high-speed UMTS network. These features guarantee compatibility and functionality across almost the entire globe. EDGE and GPRS connections are also available for data transfer. Bluetooth connectivity, on the other hand, allows the use of wireless peripherals and data exchange with other compatible cell phones or computers. A USB port is also available for synchronization with computers, usable via the appropriate cable.

Design and features

Motorola RAZR V3xx is classified as a "clamshell" phone, with a flip-open design. This type of design allows good protection of the display against impacts and scratches. It is a model with an integrated antenna, not very light but quite thin. The elegant lines enclose a black-colored body, with a decorated dragon that gives the RAZR V3xx an appealing tribal look. On the outer front part of the casing there is the secondary screen, while inside is the main screen, large and well-defined.

Main features

Motorola RAZR V3xx, thanks to 3G support, allows users to take advantage of video calls and video messages. Furthermore, it offers its users the speakerphone function, usable through the dedicated built-in speaker. The voice recorder makes it possible to store audio sequences and conversations. Messaging rounds out the package, with the ability to manage and send Sms, Ems, Mms and E-mail. Each format is easily composed thanks to the dedicated predictive writing system. Finally, alarm clock, calculator and organizer functions are available, for managing daily commitments.

Entertainment and multimedia

Thanks to support for Java technology (J2ME), it is possible to use, download and install numerous games and useful applications. The phone unfortunately lacks an AM/FM radio, but it is nonetheless a valid music entertainer with its audio file player supporting MP3, AAC, AAC+ and WMA formats. The supported video formats are instead: MP4, 3GP and WMV. The base memory is 64 MB but it is easily expandable via microSD cards. Motorola RAZR V3xx, furthermore, features a capable built-in camera, with a resolution of 1.3 MegaPixel. It lacks a built-in flash function but various brightness and contrast adjustments are possible, as well as 8x digital zoom.
