Network and connections
Scheduled for release in the first months of 2010, the Motorola Motus will offer advanced technology and great quality. Speaking first of all about the technical features, we can say that it is equipped with a Quadband GSM receiver. It operates in Dual Mode, to also support UMTS networks. Browsing the Internet is really fast, thanks to the internal HSDPA modem and the dedicated HTML browser. It is also possible to take advantage of distributed networks thanks to the integrated Wi-Fi antenna. Of course, the now widespread Bluetooth and the USB data cable output are not missing.
Design and features
The classic and elegant look gives it an important air thanks to the silver profile that rounds off the edges. This way, the grip also remains more comfortable, thanks also to the fairly compact dimensions. The Motus has a thickness of 15.3 mm and a weight of 133 grams. Compared to some ultra-thin models this may appear sturdier, but the difference is soon explained. This Motorola in fact has a lateral Slider opening, which reveals the extended QWERTY keyboard inside. On the front side, however, there is the display, a 3.1-inch TFT, capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors. It is also equipped with a Capacitive Touch Screen, for optimal content management, in addition to the Backtrack Touch Panel.
Main features
The platform this device is equipped with is Android OS 1.5 by Google. It is immediately clear how excellent its suitability for multimedia and network content is. In fact, it is possible to sync your activities and updates with Facebook. You can also contact your friends via Instant Messaging, to exchange images or videos on YouTube without any problems. Java support also allows you to best customize the Motus, installing compatible applications as you wish. Writing text is really fast thanks to the extended keyboard. This way you can easily manage SMS, MMS and E-mail. Attachments will no longer be a problem, thanks to Office and PDF support. As for the phone aspect, it is possible to use the speakerphone, the voice recorder and make multi-conference calls. A dedicated camera also allows you to make video calls.
Entertainment and multimedia
The multimedia features are excellent, offering a wide choice of applications to use in leisure moments. It is possible to take high quality photographs with the camera. It has a resolution of 5 megapixels and comes with Flash, digital Zoom and image editing functions. You can also record videos, to be stored thanks to the expandability of microSD cards up to 32 GB. Your favorite music and videos will always be at hand, to be played through the multimedia player with support for various formats. The integrated GPS receiver is also present, to combine satellite functions, such as a navigator or Geo-Tagging for photos. Battery life is good, up to 315 hours in Stand-by.
