A new device for Europe with the Android platform. The Defy integrates a GSM Quadband receiver, capable of guaranteeing optimal coverage in any situation. Dual Mode support is also present, to take advantage of UMTS networks. For the Internet, there is an internal HSDPA modem, extremely fast and high-performing. The HTML browser will thus be able to open pages with ease. Or you can connect to distributed networks, thanks to the integrated Wi-Fi antenna. Bluetooth for file transfers is also present, as well as the USB data output.
Design and features
Simple but decisive lines, for a touch of elegance and class in any situation. On the front stands out the large 3.7 inch WVGA TFT screen, equipped with Capacitive Touch Screen technology that allows precise and optimal management of the device. A phone resistant to dirt and impacts, even to water up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes. In short, a guarantee in any work context. The dimensions are absolutely compact, with 13.4 mm of thickness for 118 grams of weight. A 2 GB memory card is included in the package.
Main features
Google's Android OS platform is implemented in favor of multimedia content and execution speed, thanks also to the 800 MHz processor. Programs such as YouTube, Facebook and Google Maps can therefore be used with stability, as well as many other interesting applications including Digital Compass and Instant Messaging. Wide possibility of customization thanks to Java support. Contact list, organizer for appointments, calculator and other management utilities are already included. Predictive text input helps with composing messages, from SMS to longer E-mail messages. It is also possible to properly open Office and PDF attachments thanks to the dedicated readers. A reader for RSS Feeds is also included. For voice functions there are instead the speakerphone, the voice recorder and support for video calling. The presence of a microphone with noise cancellation is interesting.
Entertainment and multimedia
Even in leisure moments the Motorola Defy is able to fully satisfy the user. It is in fact equipped with a 5 megapixel camera, capable of delivering excellent quality images in any condition. This is also thanks to dedicated functions for even more precise capture, even when recording short videos. The GPS receiver is convenient for turning the phone into a satellite navigator. Or again the multimedia player to faithfully reproduce audio and video files. In short, a concentration of advanced technology for innovation lovers. The memory is generous, expandable up to 32 GB with microSD cards. The battery life is not very high, up to 240 hours in Stand-by.
