LG GW550 review
Network and connections
A phone for Business users, at first glance it could be mistaken for a BlackBerry model or the Nokia E71. The technical features are notable, starting with the GSM Quadband network receiver. It operates on the 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz frequencies to guarantee optimal coverage. Furthermore, UMTS support is present for advanced features. Browsing the Internet is easy and fast, thanks to the internal modem with HSDPA data traffic management. The browser will therefore be able to open any HTML page without problems. It is also possible to connect to distributed Wi-Fi networks. Bluetooth and the USB data cable output are also present.
Design and features
The monoblock structure, palm-sized, remains comfortable in the hands during use. The extended QWERTY keyboard stands out immediately on the front, right below the screen. This is a 2.4-inch QVGA TFT, capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. A large directional pad helps a lot in managing content. The presence of the wide keyboard seems to excessively load the dimensions; on the contrary, they remain contained, with 12 mm of thickness and only 125.5 grams of weight. Earphones and data cable are included in the package.
