i-Mate JAMA 201 review

Network and connections
The i-Mate Jama 201 has good quality network connections, allowing optimal operation anywhere in the world: in fact, it is a Triband GSM device. In addition, for data traffic it is possible to use the GPRS protocol, which also allows browsing the Web thanks to the WAP browser. With Bluetooth wireless support, files can be exchanged with other compatible devices, or alternatively the USB 2.0 cable can be used to connect directly to a PC. The Jama 201 does not, however, have a Wi-Fi receiver, nor an IrDa port.

Design and features
A one-piece structure, almost like a palmtop, with a large 2.5-inch TFT screen with horizontal display and 65,000 colors. Below it is a series of function keys, in addition to the extended QWERTY keyboard. The thickness is fairly contained, at 14 mm, as is the weight of 152 grams, including the 1050 mAh lithium battery, which guarantees an operating life of up to 150 hours in Stand-by. In the sales package you can find the stereo headset and also a USB cable.

Main features
The Jama 201 presents itself as a Smartphone with complete functionality. The Windows Mobile 6 Professional platform allows you to install compatible applications, so as to best customize your device. The Office package, on the other hand, allows you to create and edit documents of all kinds. All of this is supported by the power of the 300 MHz Samsung processor, with 64 MB of RAM memory. Your commitments are always under control thanks to the calendar synchronized with the agenda. And with the built-in speakerphone, it is also possible to make multi-conference calls.

Entertainment and multimedia
A perfect travel companion, for capturing images in important moments. This is thanks to the 2 megapixel camera, complete with 4X Zoom and brightness adjustment, as well as a Flash for sharp images in any condition. Photos and videos can thus be stored in the built-in 128 MB space, which can be expanded, however, thanks to microSD cards. In addition, the Windows Media Player player allows you to listen to music on the go, supporting various formats. And for an extra moment of leisure, Java support allows you to use compatible games, also downloading them directly from the WAP browser.
