BlackBerry Curve 8310 review

Network and connections
In a Business-class phone like the 8310, maximum mobility is essential, to work at its best even on the longest business trips. The GSM Quadband receiver guarantees optimal coverage in every country in the world. The integrated modem and the WAP browser allow you to browse the Web, also thanks to GPRS network support for data traffic. There is also Bluetooth connectivity to exchange files with other devices. Or again, USB 2.0 support which allows you to connect directly to a PC. Unfortunately this Blackberry is not equipped with Wi-Fi technology.

Design and features
Blackberry maintains the classic monoblock design with rounded shapes on this model as well. With the QWERTY keyboard writing E-mails and messages is faster and easier. The large central key, on the other hand, makes navigating menus easier, together with the keys on the side edge. The screen is an LCD TFT at 240 x 320 pixels with 65536 colors. The dimensions are close to those of a palmtop, with a thickness of 15.5 mm; however, the weight remains contained at just 111 grams. The package includes earphones and a protective leather case.

Main features
The Curve 8310 proves to be a true business Smartphone; in fact it supports the main e-mail client systems and it is also possible to synchronize everything with dedicated company servers. All the most common features are present, such as alarm clock, calendar, and integrated speakerphone. Or again, voice calls, multiconference support, and voice recorder. Messaging is also complete: SMS and multimedia messages. Finally, special mention goes to the ability to view almost every type of attachment.

Entertainment and multimedia
Not just for work, the Curve 8310 also shows a flair for leisure. A 2 megapixel camera, equipped with Flash, allows you to take good-definition photos. The available memory is quite large, 64 MB as standard, but expandable with microSD cards. There is also a multimedia player, to play audio and video files in various formats. The Blackberry Maps software and the integrated GPS receiver also guide you during every trip, giving voice directions and real-time traffic information.
