Network and connections
Blackberry 8800 is a powerful and relatively compact smartphone. It is a Quad-band device, therefore able to operate on the GSM network at frequencies of 850/900/1800/1900 MhZ, also taking advantage of an innovative noise and echo cancellation technique during conversations. EDGE technology, in addition to GPRS, allows for secure and reasonably fast data transfer. The device, besides having a USB port, supports the Wi-Fi wireless communication protocol for network connectivity anywhere. Bluetooth technology, on the other hand, allows the user to exchange files and use numerous dedicated accessories. This model has a proprietary, versatile and "lightweight" operating system, including many useful software programs for managing professional activities, and not only that.
Design and features
Blackberry 8800 has a compact and slim design (15.5 mm). It is a lightweight handset, featuring the elegant style that characterizes the entire Rim range. The antenna is built-in, thus enhancing its handling. This device also has a full "Qwerty" keyboard, which gives the user the ability to write long texts and e-mails while on the move. There is also a central trackball that allows you to "navigate" easily between the various functions. Blackberry 8800 is available in three different colors, all black, all gray or gray and black. The set of accessories, finally, includes: power adapter, USB sync and charging cable, headset with microphone, multilingual manuals and CD-ROM. The standard software package, instead, includes Calendar, organizer, calculator and notes.
Main features
In addition to the e-mail management software and internet browser, there is an office document and pdf viewer. It is also possible to install instant messaging applications. This smartphone allows the use of Sms, Mms and e-mail messages (with attachments), while the WAP browser allows the user to access dedicated internet resources. Blackberry 8800 offers a memory capacity of 64 MB and the expansion slot supports the use of MicroSD cards.
Entertainment and multimedia
On the front of the device, the excellent liquid crystal display (LCD) stands out. It is an active matrix (TFT) display and boasts a resolution of 320x240 pixels. Furthermore, the multimedia capabilities of this model are more than adequate, thanks to the handy Media Player included. Thanks to this software it is in fact possible to play and manage sound files in MP3, AAC, AMR, MIDI and WAV format. The video files that can be played, on the other hand, are those in AVI, MOV, MP4, MPG and 3GP format, in addition to the possibility of audio/video streaming. Rim Blackberry 8800 integrates a medium-quality digital camera, simple to use and equipped with flash. It has a resolution of 1.3 Megapixel and allows you to capture photographs of good quality, at a maximum resolution of 1280x1024 pixels. The camera also has a 5x digital zoom and offers the possibility of recording and playing back video sequences, although not of excellent quality.
