ASUS P320 review
Network and connections
Asus always presents itself as attentive to quality and especially to the reliability of its devices, dedicated above all to a professional user base. The technical characteristics of the P320 keep right in line with the company's style. The GSM Quadband receiver guarantees optimal signal coverage anywhere in the world, even though it does not support UMTS. It is still possible to browse the Internet thanks to the internal modem and GPRS, or by connecting directly to distributed networks via Wi-fi. The browser will thus be able to open HTML pages without any problems. Also present are the useful Bluetooth and USB data cable, for syncing with compatible devices.
Design and features
Its absolutely compact dimensions make it a Smartphone suited for carrying without compromise, comfortably fitting in one hand and making the most of every function. It is in fact just 13 mm thick and weighs only 105 grams. The shapes are rounded at the edges, so as to achieve perfect ergonomics. The front is occupied by the display, a 2.6-inch TFT with Touch Screen technology, capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. Just below are a multifunction directional pad and dedicated keys, convenient for perfectly managing every operation. The package includes a travel charger, headset, and data cable.
Main features
The P320's platform is Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, a guarantee of processing power and compatibility. It is therefore possible to best manage every piece of personal information, such as contacts, appointments, and tasks. There are also the classic calculator and alarm clock, as well as a currency converter and stopwatch. All of this is optimized by the Auto Cleaner function, which closes all unnecessarily open applications, ensuring the phone's efficiency at all times, without wasting battery or memory.
Entertainment and multimedia
Equipped with a 2 megapixel rear camera, the P320 allows you to take photos of acceptable quality when needed. It is also possible to record videos, to be stored in the 64 MB of space, further expandable via microSD or SDHD cards. This way, you can carry plenty of audio and video files with you, to be played back with Windows Media Player. Worth noting is the presence of integrated GPS, with a SiRF Star III chipset, capable of high satellite acquisition speed and absolutely precise navigation. Battery life is not very high, but this is understandable given the numerous functions offered by this device. The battery still guarantees 200 hours of Stand-by operation.
