ASUS MyPal A620 review

The special ASUS Smoothly Video Play technology featured in MyPal A620 allows video playback at over 60 frames per second, ensuring unprecedented image fluidity. ASUS MyPal A620 is equipped with the new Windows Mobile 2003 operating system, which offers greater entertainment, improvements to the PIM (Personal Information Management), general functionality, connection management, power management, and guarantees greater security for businesses. Asus MyPal A620 is among the first handhelds to be equipped with the new Intel PXA255 processor at 400 MHz. The new processor allows for more efficient power consumption management by shutting down components that are not in use, together with speed and power. In addition, it comes with the GPS Kit for Pocket PC, with all the necessary Hardware to turn it into a satellite navigator.

The 3.5-inch TFT color display of the transflective type, with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, touch-sensitive, offers high image quality in terms of color brilliance and definition. The CF slot allows the Pocket PC great expandability; in fact, with the numerous Compact Flash cards on the market, the handheld can be turned into a GPRS phone, digital camera, FM radio, and much more. Thanks to the Smart Power Saving function, the ASUS Pocket PC is able to choose the consumption mode based on the applications you intend to use, through a system called Power On Demand, a function that guarantees up to 19 hours of operation with the handheld, and, thanks to the Asus Smart Keeper function, before the Pocket PC runs out of battery, the system automatically proceeds to Back Up the data onto the Compact Flash memory card. The Back Up can be managed manually or automatically depending on personal habits.
