Apple iPhone 3G S (32GB) review

Network and connections
Apple's new arrival exceeds every expectation. An absolutely complete and powerful device, capable of handling any operation. Starting with the technical characteristics, we find a Quadband GSM receiver, excellent for having perfect coverage in any part of the world. There is also UMTS support, to offer greater telephony utilities. The iPhone 3G S is optimized for the Internet, with fast data traffic in HSDPA, truly facilitating the HTML browser. In addition, you can also take advantage of distributed networks through Wi-Fi support. Of course Bluetooth is not missing either, handy for communicating with other devices, as well as the USB 2.0 data cable.

Design and equipment
The imprint is the characteristic of the old iPhone, with a thin and elegant unibody shell. The edges remain a bit more rounded and fine in this new version, which also features a convex back branded with the Apple logo. Also, the coloring is no longer satin, but glossy in white or black paint. Class and elegance have no limits at Apple's home. The front houses the large 3.5-inch Widescreen Multi-Touch display, absolutely large and comfortable to use. The usual multifunction button helps with interacting with the menus. The thickness is 12.3 mm, with a weight of 135 grams. In itself the iPhone doesn't turn out to be so compact, but given its potential it remains in line with the main competitors. In the package, the inevitable earphones, the Dock/USB cable and the clip for SIM removal.

Main features
The Mac OS X 3.0 operating system astonishes for speed and ease of use. Everything is at hand in an intuitive way. The configurations are easy to complete, to interact even better with other devices. Connection problems have in fact been limited, thanks also to Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, for synchronization with the PC as well. The standard equipment is absolutely complete as in the past. Moreover, from the Apple Store you can download compatible software in abundance, to truly customize your device to the fullest. Emails are easily managed through the appropriate IMAP or POP3 Account, to always stay in contact with the virtual world. Attachment management, facilitated writing and Safari for browsing in HTML are absolutely surprising. The voice aspect is no less impressive either, with speakerphone, voice recorder, support for multiconferencing or even video calling.

Entertainment and multimedia
Not just a phone with Business functionalities. Not just a tool for quickly browsing the Internet on the go. The iPhone 3G S also transforms into an excellent multimedia player like the iPod. It is in fact capable of playing audio and video files in various formats, thanks to the iTunes application, to download music directly from the Web. The organization into albums according to various characteristics of the tracks makes everything even more manageable. The digital camera is not missing, with a resolution of 3.2 megapixels. It captures images and videos in quality, to be saved on the 32 GB memory, further expandable. The memory configuration is however a choice at purchase (16 or 32 GB). Battery life is also excellent, up to 300 hours in Stand-by.
