Alcatel One Touch V670 review

Network and connections
A common feature of all Alcatel devices is certainly good quality at affordable prices. The network receiver is GSM Dualband, able to work on 900 and 1800 MHz frequencies. Signal quality is fairly good, although only at a local level. As for wireless, you can use Bluetooth to exchange files with other compatible devices. There is also a USB 2.0 data cable output, so you can also sync with your home PC. Internet access, on the other hand, is guaranteed by the internal modem, with GPRS packet traffic management. The dedicated WAP browser then allows pages to be displayed.

Design and features

The lines are simple but still carefully designed. To the touch the feeling is immediately pleasant, since the covers are coated with a rubbery material that increases comfort and grip security. On the front there's a small display to show essential information such as battery charge, signal quality and the current time. The body is a clamshell with hinge opening, of good quality in terms of materials used. Inside you find the standard numeric keypad with a directional pad and function keys. Above instead is the screen, a TFT with a resolution of 128x160 pixels, with a maximum display of 65,000 colors. The retail package contains the essentials: charger, user manual and the handy earphones.

Main features

You can't expect high-level operation from an entry-level phone. However, the basic features are complete and practical to use. Starting with the address book for contacts, or the agenda for organizing your appointments, the calendar and the alarm clock. There's also the calculator and the currency converter. As for the voice side, you can count on the built-in hands-free, the voice recorder and support for multiconferencing. Writing messages is convenient, making it easy to handle SMS and multimedia messages at their best. As already mentioned, the proprietary platform doesn't leave much room for major expansions, although Java support allows you to install small compatible utilities.

Entertainment and multimedia

One point in favor of the Alcatel One Touch V670 is certainly its music functionality. It indeed works well as an mp3 player, so you can always have your favorite music on hand. The internal memory is only 10 MB, but it's easily expandable via microSD cards. There's also a camera with a resolution of 0.3 megapixel VGA. Image quality isn't amazing, but it's still possible to take a few photos or record short videos when needed, also relying on the Zoom and self-timer functions. The 700 mAh battery also guarantees good battery life: up to 300 hours in Stand-by.
