Alcatel One Touch Reflex review

Network and connections
An easy and essential phone presented by Alcatel, always a leader in offering excellent compromises of functionality and cost. The network receiver is a GSM Dualband on frequencies of 900 and 1800 MHz. Connections to other devices are quite limited, possible via USB 2.0 cable. However, it is possible to browse WAP through the internal modem, with data traffic management in GPRS. The browser will thus be able to open Web pages, to offer a minimum of connectivity even while on the move. Bluetooth support is present.

Design and features

The structure is simple but refined. The glossy coloring gives it an elegant and distinguished look. The body opens in a clamshell design, to protect the screen and the standard numeric keypad inside. The display is a CSNT at 128x160 pixels, capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. The keys are small but quite usable. A directional pad instead helps in managing content. On the outside there are quick keys for audio functions. The package includes the headset and the data cable.

Main features

From a low-end phone one cannot expect high-level operation. However, the basic functions are complete and practical to use. Starting from the phonebook for contacts, or the agenda for organizing appointments, the calendar and the alarm clock. There are also the calculator and the currency converter. For the voice sector, you can count on the built-in speakerphone, the voice recorder and support for multi-conferencing. Writing messages is convenient, so you can best manage SMS and multimedia messages.

Entertainment and multimedia
There isn't much to say about the multimedia aspect, except that there is a receiver for AM/FM radio frequencies, so you can listen to your favorite radio stations at any time. Polyphonic ringtones can be managed without any problems. There is no digital camera, nor a video player. Battery life is good, up to 400 hours in Stand-by.
