Alcatel MD Moon review

Network and connections
As always Alcatel offers phones that are not too demanding on the economic side, but able to satisfy with complete and easy-to-use functions. Starting with the technical characteristics, we can say that the MD Moon is equipped with a GSM Triband receiver, capable of working on the frequencies of 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. Signal coverage is really very good in any condition, despite the lack of support for UMTS networks. It is also possible to surf the Internet, thanks to the internal modem and the WAP browser, which use the GPRS protocol for data traffic. To exchange files with other devices, Bluetooth is handy, or the USB 2.0 data cable to sync directly to the PC.

Design and features
At first glance the phone appears compact and very easy to handle, to guarantee portability without compromises. In fact, the body has a thickness of 22 mm, for a weight of just 83 grams; considering that this is a clamshell phone, the dimensions are not bad at all. Inside is the screen, an LCD with a resolution of 128x160 pixels, capable of displaying up to 65,000 colors. In the lower part, instead, the keypad, a standard numeric one with comfortable keys to use. The sales package includes stereo earphones, a nice charm, and a protective case.

Main features
A simple and undemanding phone, aimed above all at a young audience or in any case at users without particular demands. However, the Alcatel MD Moon is able to offer complete functions, such as a contacts list, an appointment calendar, alarm clock, calculator and stopwatch. Writing text messages is very easy, also thanks to support for predictive text. In this way, SMS and multimedia messages can be managed without problems. The voice section, on the other hand, offers hands-free and the ability to make multi-conference calls.

Entertainment and multimedia
To complete the offer, this phone has been equipped with a camera, with VGA resolution of 640x480 pixels. Image quality is not high, but it still allows you to take photographs when needed, or record short videos. The available memory is expandable up to 1 GB via microSD cards. In this way you can also carry your favorite songs with you, to play back without problems via the multimedia player. Java support also allows you to install compatible games. The lithium battery guarantees good operating autonomy, up to 300 hours in Stand-by.
